Christopher J. Steinbach, President & CEO, provides overall direction for The Newberry Group and presides over the implementation of the corporate strategies, the implementation of best practices, and the profitable growth of the company.

Mr. Steinbach’s previous position was as the Corporate Security Operations Executive for the Virginia-based Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC). He was responsible for CSC’s Corporate Security strategy and go-to-market approach. Prior to this, Steinbach was responsible for the P&L (Profit and Loss) of multiple business units totaling $880 million within a $1.3 billion division along with 2,000 employees providing services for the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State, and the broader intelligence community.

Starting at CSC as a Senior Human Factors Engineer, Mr. Steinbach lead several teams in support of Department of Defense contracts focusing on optimizing the performance of advanced technological systems by addressing issues such as manpower, personnel, training, and user interface design. His career advanced as he moved to an assignment in Human Resources, where he developed the technology-driven recruiting and staffing approach that is still in use today. He then accepted a role as Director on CSC’s Information Security and Operations Center leadership team, aiding a major transition of CSC’s Public Sector Information Security organization toward supporting the company’s commercial-sector pursuits.

His next promotion was to Vice President, Global Security Solutions (GSS) where he was tasked with rapidly energizing its growth, visibility, and contribution to CSC’s service portfolio. Under Mr. Steinbach’s leadership, GSS experienced a dramatic cultural and performance transformation. Among his many achievements were the launching of a new solutions development and partner alliance organization, establishing CSC’s first security operations in India, and balancing the GSS service portfolio consisting of U.S. Federal and Commercial/Global clientele.

Mr. Steinbach was then promoted and assumed the role as the first Vice President of Operations for CSC’s $1.3 billion Enforcement, Security, and Intelligence Division. Successfully serving in this capacity, he was promoted to be CSC’s Corporate Security Operations Executive wherein he served until his acceptance as Newberry Group’s President & CEO.

Mr. Steinbach holds both bachelors and masters degrees from Towson University in Maryland.
