As Director, IT Technical Operations for The Newberry Group, Inc., Michael Leyden is responsible for the successful execution and implementation of projects for our commercial clients as well as our corporate IT support. He leads a highly-trained, highly-certified staff experienced in identifying our clients’ technical needs and elevating their businesses to a new level of competitive advantage.
A decorated 20-year veteran of the U.S. Army, Michael has more than 15 years of management experience and more than 10 years of Information Technology Management and IT Project Management experience. Before retiring from the Army, he served as Senior Information Technology Manager in Wurzburg, Germany, where he supervised daily IT operations, coordinated infrastructure modernization, ensured security compliance and provided technical IT assistance and training. As a Senior Information Technology Manager/Senior Plans & Operations Manager at the Army’s Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland, Michael oversaw large-scale modernization projects, such as data center infrastructure upgrades. He also compiled IT requirements for the Army’s Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) study.
Michael holds degrees in Management and Applied Science in Technical Studies. During his military service, he garnered numerous honors and awards including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.
